Macaúba’s world scenario: a bibliometric analysis

Macaúba is a tropical palm native in South and Central America, its fruits present high-quality oil for biodiesel production. Notwithstanding, macaúba’s wastes by-products are not usually repurposed as energy sources. This study shows bibliometric analysis to assess current applications investigate other recovery routes by-products. All the investigations focused on information about main research fields related macaúba. The showed that only 397 articles reviews were published from 1900 until 2021 Brazil has largest number of publications. Although oleic protein applied animal feed, some conversion lignocellulosic contents, non-edible parts, identified thermal conversion, combustion, gasification, pyrolysis, biochemical fermentation, esterification, anaerobic digestion. From agricultural perspective, plant characterization, germination, embryogenesis, seed development also found. study, different potential macaúba energy, pharmaceutical, food purposes listed support identification knowledge gap by-product revaluation.
